Oslers (Wairoa) Sausage Roll

Oslers are famous on the coast for their brilliant pies and other baked goods. The sausage roll is the poor cousin to their pie but Oslers do a great job. I travel though Wairoa a fair bit and often stop at Oslers for a coffee and/or food so thought it was time to report on their version of the sossie roll.

Action shot with the Wairoa River in the background.

As you can see he's a biggie - the classic kiwi form factor. But the Oslers crew have made it special with some great work on the filling including excellent food value - look at those onion pieces...

At $2.70 (I think) this is pretty good value. They also have a giant sausage roll for those of you with no self-control.

Delicious.

5 - flavour
4 - meat-to-pastry ratio - I'm still to be convinced about the kiwi form factor.
5 - real food value
4 - presentation
4 - cost
4 - overall satisfaction
